Historic Board Room

Charge: $800.00 (+ GST)

Available: Monday - Sunday, 4.00pm onwards (negotiable)

The former Board Room of the Wellington Harbour Board, this room is impressive with its high stud, ornate wood carving and aura of the all-powerful Harbour Board in its hey day.

Guests enter through the Museum's northern facing door and up the heritage Rimu staircase into the Board Room lobby area, before entering the Board Room itself.

The Todd Foundation Room

Charge: $400 (+ GST)

Capacity:?50 lecture/meeting

Available: Monday to Friday, 3.30pm (negotiable), Saturday and Sunday all day

This is the Education Room for the Museum's interactive education programme. It is situated in the northern heritage end of the building with separate access via the heritage staircase or lift.

As the Education Room has seating available for 50, making it an ideal venue for a lecture or informal meeting space. There is an overhead projector and screen available.

Charge: $4.00 per head (incl. GST)

Strictly no food or drink is allowed in the Museum itself, should the function include the Museum being open.

Facilities Available

  • A fully equipped kitchen is available on the same level as the Board Room and one half level below The Todd Foundation Room. This has domestic bench space, oven, zip, dishwasher and dual sink. (Should caterers require additional bench space, the hire of trestle tables is the hirer's responsibility.)

  • Disabled access is via the lift at the southern end of the building for the Board Room and the lift at the northern end for The Todd Foundation Room.

  • Cleaning of the room is included in the hire charge.

  • Set-up in the Room is negotiable on the function/booking and all equipment must be removed to the kitchen that same evening. Caterers and other suppliers must collect their goods by 10am on the following day.

General Requirements

  • After-hours security will be charged to the hirer at $30 per hour. This will be taken from the arrival of the first guest/catering staff to the departure of the last guest/catering staff.

  • A member of the Museum staff will be on-site and will be charged at $30 per hour.

  • Strictly no food or drink is allowed in the Museum itself, should the function include the Museum being open.

  • No candelabra or open flames are permitted in the Board Room,

Booking Conditions

  • Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to booking

  • Payment is on invoice, payable by the 20th of the month following the booking date.
