A student tries on a life jacketMuseums Wellington provides unforgettable learning experiences for students of all ages. Our museum programmes enable students to discover the stories of Wellington/Te Whanganui-ā-Tara in an authentic, fun and hands-on context.

Programmes support the New Zealand Curriculum and provide opportunities for students to develop the key competencies in a social learning context. Our Social Sciences focus can be linked to English, The Arts, Tourism, Science, Technology or Statistics depending on your requirements.

Our programmes are developed and led by experienced and enthusiastic teachers, and are supported by the Ministry of Education's Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom initiative.
